This is the second piece that I created. It was an incredible and intuitive process how this piece came about. I had a strong sense to have really nothing on the page to illustrate the feeling of white space but then I came across this perfect quote by Albert Einstein, “Out of clutter, find simplicity”. I also included the word “introducing” as it felt it marked the official beginning of this magical journey. I got interrupted and had to stop part way through as it clearly looked unfinished exposing most of the canvas, but I actually decided that it was perfect exactly the way it is. It is a journey, so it will be unfinished )and I intentionally wanted to hold myself back from adding more, filling up the space (and I will tell you it was a bit of a challenge – questioning that I had done enough vs. leaving the beautifully white space and allowing it to breathe.) The other interesting thing that I think it important is that it does leave parts exposed, raw – it’s the truth, the reality of what is underneath as you can see the semi-transparent layers showing the other side – a side we may want to cover up but in accepting that side, that is where the beauty lies.
